WEST CHESTER, Pa. – A 12-year-old school record and two pool records were shattered on Friday evening, as the University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team ended the regular season with a 174-118 victory at West Chester.
Junior diver
Cody Hopkins set a new program record in the three-meter dive, while
Robert Melsom and
Daniel Gallagher both broke Graham Natatorium pool records as the Quakers claimed their fifth consecutive victory.
Penn totaled 12 victories including two each for
James Curreri,
Ben Feldman, Gallagher and Hopkins.

*Hopkins made history on Friday, breaking Jeff Cragg's school record in the three-meter dive from 2012, scoring a 365.55 to place first in the event. Cragg's previous record was a 365.33 and still holds the one-meter dive school record (349.13) from 2010. Hopkins also won the one-meter dive with a score of 319.13.
*Melsom set a new West Chester pool record with a 9:16.64 in the 1,000-yard freestyle, while Gallagher swam a pool-record time of 1:47.84 in the 200-yard backstroke.
*Gallagher also won the 100 back with a time of 51.10 whole
Liam Campbell took third place (51.10).

James Curreri won the 500 free with a time of 4:33.05 and the 200 free (1:41.02) with
Weifan Zhang coming in third (1:41.72).

Ben Feldman won two races, the 100-yard breaststroke (56.16) and the 100 free (45.13).
*The quartet of Campbell,
Alex Fu,
Andrew Dai and Feldman won the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:30.78. Penn also had a third-place finish in the event in Gallagher,
Jason Schreiber,
Evan Spagnoletti and
Jonathan Javier Koumendakos (1:31.85).
*Schreiber led a 1-2-3 finish in the 200-yard butterfly, swimming a 1:49.30, while
Benji Ham came in second (1:51.18) and
Henry Sheils in third (1:52.81).
*Matthew Leblanc also took first in a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 breast (2:03.64) with Fu placing second (2:05.41) and
Neo Matsuyama taking third (2:05.97).
*Dai took finished in second place in the 50 free (20.96).
*Sheils (50.61) and Spagnoletti (51.06) went second and third, respectively, in the 100 fly.
*In the 400 IM,
Sam Donchi placed second (4:00.28) and
Weifan Zhang took third (4:05.20).
