PHILADELPHIA – After a remarkable run to an Ivy League Championship in 2022, the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team has a spot in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll, announced earlier this week.
Â
The first Ivy title since 2013 and a first-round victory in the NCAA Championship, the Quakers are ranked 25th to open the new campaign.
Â
Penn joins Cornell (No. 20) as the only other Ivy League team in the poll.
Â
The Red and Blue returns a slew of important players from last season including reigning Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year
Stas Korzeniowski and Defensive Player of the Year
Leo Burney. All-Ivy selection
Nick Christoffersen returns for another season between the pipes, while
Ben Do is set for his junior year after a standout season on the backline.
Â
The 2023 season is less than a month away with Penn traveling to Fordham on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. The Quakers play four straight road games before coming home to Penn Park for the first time on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. against UAlbany.
