PHILADELPHIA – After a remarkable run to an Ivy League Championship in 2022, the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team has a spot in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll, announced earlier this week.
The first Ivy title since 2013 and a first-round victory in the NCAA Championship, the Quakers are ranked 25th to open the new campaign.
Penn joins Cornell (No. 20) as the only other Ivy League team in the poll.
The Red and Blue returns a slew of important players from last season including reigning Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year
Stas Korzeniowski and Defensive Player of the Year
Leo Burney. All-Ivy selection
Nick Christoffersen returns for another season between the pipes, while
Ben Do is set for his junior year after a standout season on the backline.
The 2023 season is less than a month away with Penn traveling to Fordham on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. The Quakers play four straight road games before coming home to Penn Park for the first time on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. against UAlbany.
