PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania softball team is back at home on Wednesday afternoon to host the Hawks from Saint Joseph's University. The Hawks will make the 23-minute drive to Penn Park for a 4 p.m. first pitch.

Previewing Penn
The Quakers are coming off a quiet offensive outing as Yale swept Penn in a three-game series. Despite a 7-3 final, game one was a 1-0 game through three and a half innings. Yale struck for six runs in the fourth, all with two outs. Penn rallied in the sixth for three runs, as
Dana Anderson and Delaney smith both ripped two-out hits to plate a trio of runs. The Penn pitching kept the offense within striking distance. In the second game of the series,
Sarah Schneider give the Quakers a 1-0 lead on a solo shot to straight away centerfield.
Payton Bean took a no-hitter into the fourth inning as before the inning was over her no-hit and shut out bids were over. Tied 1-1 in the sixth, the Bulldogs pushed across the eventual winning run on an RBI double to right center. The starting pitchers were locked in a scoreless draw until the final at-bat of the final game.
Kelly Zybura pitched six scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and three strikeouts. Yale struck for three straight base hits in their final at-bat to push across the winning run.

Sarah Schneider leads the team in multiple categories including hits (31), average (.326), slugging percentage (.558), on base percentage (.387), RBI (16), home runs (4), doubles (10), and total bases (53). She is second in the Ivy League with 10 doubles. With her solo shot in game two against Yale, she hit her fourth home run of the season and the 17th of her career moving her ahead of Jessica Melendez (2010-13) for the sixth most in program history. One more and she will tie Brooke Coloma (2010-13) and Alisha Prystowsky (2008-11) for fifth most with 18.
Previewing the Hawks
Saint Joseph's is 13-19 overall on the season and 5-6 in Atlantic 10 play. The Hawks are coming off a 1-3 week, their lone victory of the week was a 2-0 shutout in the series opener against George Washington as Emily Siler shutout of the Colonials on four hits while striking out nine and Meghan Sinkus went 2-for-3 with a pair of solo home runs as the only scores of the game.
The roster includes a pair of hitters hitting above .300, Kaelin Cash (.341), Madison Fife (.325), and Meghan Sinkus (.313). Sinkus (31) and Cash (30) lead the team with hits and are the only two with more than 30 or more hits on the season. Cash leads the team with 21 RBI with Payton Baxter second with 16. Cash's eight home runs lead the Hawks and the Atlantic 10. With a pair of homers in the series opener with GW, Sinkus tripled her homerun total to move into a tie for second on the team with Fife.
