Previewing Penn
After having a midweek game against Delaware State postponed, Penn opened Ivy League play over the weekend against Harvard at home and were swept by the Crimson.
Penn managed just a single run on seven total hits in Saturday's doubleheader. On Sunday, the Quakers rallied with three runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth, but it was not enough as Harvard took the series finale, 12-6.
Madi Bauerle went 5-for-9 with three RBI, a walk, and a run scored on the weekend.
Payton Bean returned to the circle over the weekend and pitched 5.2 innings allowing four runs, on seven hits while striking out four and walking two. She made her first start of the season in the series finale against Harvard.
Previewing the Hawks
Eastern Shore is currently on a two-game win streak after taking two of three from Delaware State over the weekend. After dropping game one, the Hawks responded with a 1-0 win and an 11-7 victory.
Three Hawks are currently hitting over .300, Nola Mountain (.354), Ameenah Ballenger (.340), and Ah-Nayia Oglesby (.303).
Two Hawks have split time in the circle as the two have pitched an 8.01 ERA in 97 innings pitched allowing 135 runs on 167 hits, including eight home runs, 73 walks, and 55 strikeouts. Ameenah Ballenger leads the duo with a 7.10 ERA in 45.1 innings pitched allowing 46 earned runs on 68 hits while posting a 4-5 record.
