PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team got back into the win column on Sunday with a 5-2 victory over the Temple Owls. After losing the doubles point the Quakers bounced back with five singles wins to clinch their ninth victory on the season.
Temple won the doubles point with wins at #1 and #3 doubles.
Iris Gallo and
Maya Urata tied the doubles matches with a 6-2 win at #2 but a tiebreaker win at #1 gave the Owls the doubles point and the early 1-0 lead.
Rutlauka improved to 10-0 on the season with a two-set victory at #1 singles as she won the second set via a tiebreaker. The Quakers earned wins at #4 and #5 singles as Gallo and Urata both won in straight sets.
Saige Roshkoff won the tiebreaker in the second set to clinch the victory for the home team.
Eileen Wang used a tiebreaker in the third set to earn her seventh singles win at #2 singles on the season and give the Quakers a 5-2 victory.
