The Series: UMass

Previewing Penn
Penn is 6-3 in its last nine games after an 0-3 start in the season, averaging just under seven runs per game after averaging three in a season-opening sweep at the hands of then-#23 South Carolina.
The Quakers set a season-high for runs in a 15-5, seven-inning win Wednesday over Villanova, scoring 10 times in the sixth inning, turning a three-run deficit into a seven-run lead.
All nine starting Penn players scored at least run while eight of the nine had at least one hit and one RBI.
Davis Baker,
Ben Miller, and
Jackson Appel increased their hitting streaks to seven games, six games, and five games, respectively.
Scouting the Minutemen
UMass has lost five straight after a 2-0 start to the year. Five players are hitting .300 or better, with Steve Luttazi leading the way at .444. Carter Hanson has one-third of the team's home runs (two) and one-quarter of the team's RBI (seven).
The team's two primary weekend starters, Taylor Perrett and Tyler Dalton, have struggled early on with the duo allowing a combined 15 earned runs in 12 innings in two starts apiece. Relievers Zack Given, Charlie Devin, and Mikey Jensen have all pitched to sub-2.00 ERA's in three appearances each.
