Coyne, Moss Claim CSC Academic All-District Laurels

PHILADELPHIA – Two members of the University of Pennsylvania baseball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior right-hander Jake Moss and junior southpaw Marty Coyne were selected following their contributions on the diamond and in the classroom. The Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic achievements.

Moss worked his way into the starting rotation in his final season as a Quaker, matching a career-high 11 appearances with seven starts. The Manhasset, N.Y. native's four wins, 47.1 innings pitched and 46 strikeouts were all career bests, and he ranked ninth in the Ivy League in batters struck out looking (14). He held opposing hitters to a .295 average throughout the season as one of Penn's reliable high-volume arms. Moss' best performance of the season came during the Red and Blue's conference-opening win over Dartmouth (Mar. 21), when he tossed career highs of 7.1 innings and nine strikeouts while allowing just two earned runs.

Coyne also transitioned from the bullpen to the starting rotation in 2026, establishing himself as one of the Ancient Eight's top pitchers. The junior ranked in the top 10 of numerous statistical categories within the conference—including innings pitched (70.2), strikeouts (66), ERA (4.58), batters struck out looking (20), wins (5), opposing batting average (.249) and walks allowed (15)—all of which were career bests. The Hockessin, Del. native registered five seven-plus strikeout outings en route to earning All-Ivy Honorable Mention status.
