PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's swimming and diving programs return to Sheerr Pool this weekend to host West Chester on Friday at 5 p.m. and Harvard on Saturday at 10 a.m. (men) and 2 p.m. (women).

Both Quaker teams returned to the pool for the first time in 2023 last weekend, topping Dartmouth but falling to host Yale in New Haven. Saturday's battle with the Crimson marks Penn's final regular season Ivy meet before Ivy League Championships in Februrary.

*Saturday's dual meet against Harvard marks Senior Day for both programs. The men's ceremony is tabbed to start at 9:55 a.m. with the women's ceremony preceding the meet around 2 p.m.
*The men got three first-place finishes—all courtesy of sophomore
Matthew Fallon—in a 183-116 win over the Big Green. Fallon reeled off victories in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:15.69), the 100-yard breaststroke (54.63) and the 200 breast (1:55.51).

*Four Quakers placed second with
James Curreri in the 100-yard backstroke (50.96),
Andrew Dai in the 200-yard butterfly (1:50.16),
Alex Fu in the 100 fly (49.24) and
Kevin Keil in the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.01). Keil also picked up a third-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:38.91.

*Both relays tallied third-place finishes with a 1:39.77 in the 200 medley relay and a 1:23.94 in the 200 free relay.

Jack Williams took third in the one-meter dive (292.10), while placing fifth in the three meter with a fine score of 310.35.

*Penn enters the meet with an overall record of 3-3-1 and 2-3-1 in Ivy contests. The last time it competed at home was a 182-110 win over Villanova on Nov. 9.

*The West Chester men have enjoyed a stellar season so far within the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in NCAA Division II. The Golden Rams are 5-2 with a 4-1 conference record and most recently were victorious over Lynn University last Friday by a score of 195-66. WCU also fell to host Nova Southeastern (156-104) in Fort Lauderdale.

*The Harvard men are perfect thus far during the 2022-23 season, going 4-0 overall with all four victories against Ivy opponents. Most recently, the Crimson took down Brown in Providence, 168-130.

*The women also split their weekend with Dartmouth and Yale, claiming a noteworthy win over the Big Green, 231-62.

*The Quakers enter the weekend with an overall mark of 3-4 and a 2-4 record in Ivy meets.

*In New Haven on Saturday, Penn was led by
Vanessa Chong (100, 200 fly) and
Catherine Buroker (500, 1,000 free), who both picked up a couple of second-place finishes. Chong nearly took first in the 200, narrowly getting edged by Yale's Alex Massey for the win.

Anna Boeckman also solidified her afternoon with a second place showing in the 200 breast (2:21.71), while
Anna Moehn took third in the 200 free.

*Like the men, the women also had two second place finishes in the relays, swimming a 1:45.83 in the 200 medley, followed by a 1:36.95 in the 200 free.

*The West Chester women are 5-2 overall this season and already have a Division I win under their belts back on Oct. 15 against Lehigh. The Golden Rams most recently took down Lynn last weekend in Fort Lauderdale, 180-80.

*The Harvard women have also been exceptional so far this season with a 5-0 overall record and a 4-0 Ivy mark. Saturday will be the Crimson's first competition since the Minnesota Invitational back on Dec. 3. Their last time against an Ivy school was on Nov. 18, a 191-106 victory vs. Columbia in Cambridge.
