PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania cross country teams make the short trip on Friday for their second event of the season, traveling to Haverford for the Main Line Invitational.

History at Main Line Invitational
Penn has been competing at the Main Line Invitational since 2015. The men have secured a top finish several times including 2017 and 2019, while the women have taken second in back-to-back seasons in 2017-18 and added another this past year in 2021. Last season, the men earned second place with 46 points.

Penn's Last Time Out
The Quakers hit the gravel for the first time last Friday at the Spiked Shoe Invitational at Penn State, as the men took third place as a team with 70 points, and the women took fourth with 83 points.

Four Quakers finished in the top 20 for the men led by
Oliver Stewart in 13th with a time of 25:33.0 on the 5.2-mile course. He progressively made improvements in the field throughout the race, making his biggest jump of 19 spots at the 5,000-meter mark.
Dylan Throop, who is coming off a successful summer that involved running for Team USA, finished second on the team in 15th with a time of 25:37.8.
Michael Keehan (18th),
Zubeir Dagane (20th) and
Justin Iler (23rd) were the other scorers for the Quakers.

Maeve Stiles shined on the 6K course, leading for much of the race before taking fifth with a time of 21:12.9.
Phoebe White,
Lizzy Bader, and
Lily Murphy all finished in the top 25, Murphy, in particular, making an impressive showing in her first collegiate event.
Katie Pou was the Quakers' other scorer, finishing in 31st.
