Throop Earns All-America Honors at NCAA XC Championships

MADISON, Wis. – Senior Dylan Throop garnered his first career All-American honors at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course.

Throop placed 27th in the men's 10k with a personal-best time of 29:19.6 becoming the fourth man in program history to add cross country All-America honors to his list of career achievements.

Throop is also the first Quaker to have earned the award since Tom Awad in 2015 (and 2014). He joins an exclusive list of Penn cross country men including Awad, Dusty Lieb (2002), and Dave Merrick (1975, 1971).

"Finishing 27th at the national championships and earning All-America honors is a remarkable achievement for Dylan," said director Steve Dolan.  "It speaks volumes to the determination and commitment he has shown all season. To compete against the best in the country and come out in the top 40 is a huge testament to his hard work and dedication.

I am extremely proud of Dylan and Luke's performance, and this is just the beginning of what both men can accomplish."

Teammate Luke Johnson crossed the finish line 188th with a time of 30:39.31.
