PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania softball team returns to Ivy League play this weekend as it heads to Cambridge for a three-game series at Harvard. The Red and Blue and the Crimson are set for a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. First pitch on both days is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Penn enters this weekend's contests 9-20 while Harvard is 12-15. Harvard (6-3) is one game ahead of Penn (5-4) in the Ivy standings.

Previewing Penn
Penn is coming off an 8-2 loss to Villanova on Wednesday afternoon. Penn pitching gave up five total home runs to the Wildcats, including four solo shots en rout to an 8-2 victory.
Sarah Schneider leads the team with a .341 average, 30 hits, 23 runs scored, nine doubles, and eight home runs. S. Schneider and
Dana Anderson lead the team with 17 RBI.
Julia Longo has spent the most time in the circle for the Red and Blue and is 4-9 with a 5.67 ERA in 71.2 innings pitched in 19 appearances. She leads the team with 42 strikeouts, 33 walks and five complete games and has the only save of the season.
Previewing the Crimson
Harvard is coming off a doubleheader loss to Boston University. The Terriers took game one 5-0 and then won 8-1 in six innings to complete the sweep. Harvard's lone run on the day came in the first inning of the second game on a one-out RBI base hit. Megan Melito (.343) and Megan Welsh (.317) are both batting above .300. Melito, Walsh and Lauren Boboswski all lead the team with 12 runs scored. Allison Heffley went 3-for-6 on Tuesday to extend her hitting streak to nine games.
