PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania softball team is set to host the Villanova Wildcats for a single game at Penn Park tomorrow. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Penn enters tomorrow's contest 9-19 while Villanova is 15-19.

Previewing Penn
Penn earned its second straight Ivy series victory in dramatic fashion as
Corrie Phillips hit a walk-off, three-run homer to give the Quakers a 7-6 win over Cornell on Sunday. Saturday's first game against the Big Red went 12 innings after Penn tied the game in the sixth inning. Cornell took a 7-6 lead in the top of the 11th, but
Emma Nedley hit a game-tying solo shot in the bottom half to tie it again.
Bella Fiorentino then hit a walk-off infield single to score
Julia Schneider for the 8-7 win in the 12th. Penn took an early 1-0 lead in Game 2, but in the sixth inning a Big Red grand slam proved to be the difference in a 5-2 Cornell win. Prior to the Cornell series, Penn dropped a midweek doubleheader to Lehigh.
Sarah Schneider leads the team with a .345 average, 29 hits, 23 runs scored, 9 doubles, and eight home runs. S. Schneider and
Dana Anderson lead the team with 17 RBI.
Julia Longo has spent the most time in the circle for the Red and Blue and is 4-9 with a 5.73 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched in 18 appearances. She leads the team with 42 strikeouts, 33 walks and five complete games and has the only save of the season.
Previewing the Wildcats
Villanova is coming off a victory in its series finale at DePaul, an 11-3 win on Sunday in Chicago. The Wildcats offense is led by Megan Kern with a .343 average, 37 hits, and nine doubles. As a team, they have 29 home runs, Kern, Paige Rauch, and Ally Jones all have six home runs each. Chloe Smith leads the team with 21 RBI and Rauch is the team leader with 25 runs scored. In the circle, Caroline Pellicano has a 1.27 ERA in 33 innings pitched. Rauch is 8-5 with a 3.14 ERA in a team leading 73.2 innings pitch with 82 strikeouts, and just 22 walks. She has six complete games including two shutouts.
