PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania softball team begins a six-game home stand to close out its 2022 season. The Quakers will host the Dartmouth Big Green for its rescheduled Ivy series. They will play a doubleheader on Tuesday and a single game on Wednesday. Penn is currently 10-27 and 5-10 in Ivy play while Dartmouth is 14-21 overall and 8-4 in Ivy contests.

Previewing Penn
Penn earned 3-2 victory over its 33rd Street neighbor, Drexel on Wednesday. All five runs in the game were scored in the fourth inning. Drexel took a 2-0 lead but Penn bounced back with three in the bottom half of the inning. The Red and Blue used a string of four consecutive base hits to take a 3-2 lead.

Emma Nedley, and
Sammy Fenton all hit RBI base hits in the win.
Bella Fiorentino got the win as she pitched four innings allowing two runs on seven hits.
Payton Bean earned her first save as she threw three innings allowing no runs on one hit while striking out one. Penn's weekend ended with three losses at Princeton. In the final game, Princeton went up 7-0 but the Quakers rallied as
Alyssa Pope hit a bases clearing triple to get Penn on the board. Princeton took the final game, 9-5.
Sarah Schneider leads the Penn offense in several categories including average (.304), hits (34), runs scored (28), RBI (20), doubles (10), home runs (9), and stolen bases (10).
Olivia Szewczyk leads the Penn pitching with a 4.87 ERA in 27.1 innings pitched.
Julia Longo has seen the most time in the circle, she is 4-13 with a 6.88 ERA in 90.1 innings pitched and have struck out a team-high 49 batters.
Previewing the Big Green
Dartmouth is coming off a series victory over Columbia. They opened the weekend with a 3-0 shutout and then earned the series victory with a six-inning 9-1 win on Sunday. In the series finale, the Big Green put up crooked numbers in the three different innings. Leading 5-0 after five, Columbia scored its first and only run in the top of the six. The Big Green added two runs with one out to make it 7-1. Then capitalized on a dropped fly ball to score two more runs and take the victory, 9-1.
Billie McFadyen leads the offense with a .324 average, 35 hits, and 18 RBI. Dartmouth has recorded 53 extra base hits of its 195 total hits on the season. In the circle, Brooke Plonka is 10-10 with a 2.69 ERA in 112 innings pitched. She leads the team with 99 strikeouts and has 12 complete games in 22 appearances, four of which are shutouts.
