Softball Closes out California Trip with Six Games in Three Days

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania softball team will continue its California road trip as it will play six games in three days at three different locations in California. The Quakers will remain at Cal State-Fullerton for games against Boston University and Cal State-Fullerton on Tuesday, March 8 and then head to Cal Poly for a doubleheader against the Mustangs on Wednesday, March 9. They will close out their trip at the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament hosted by UCLA with games against Loyola Marymount and #5 UCLA on Thursday, March 10.

Previewing Penn
The Quakers had a rough time at the Judi Garman Classic going 0-6 with two run-rule losses and an extra inning loss. Dana Anderson leads the team with a .367 average, 11 hits, eight RBI and three home runs. Bella Fiorentino and Sarah Schneider both lead the offense with eight walks each and have scored a combined nine runs. As a pitching staff, Penn has a 4.97 ERA in 62 innings pitched, walking 34 and recorded 36 strike outs.

Previewing the Terriers
Last weekend, the Terriers went 3-2 at the San Diego Classic with wins against UC San Diego (4-1), San Diego (3-1), and San Diego State (7-2). Kayla Roncin leads the offense with a .414 average. She also leads the team with 15 runs scored, 24 hits, three triples and 38 total bases. Nicole Amodio has five home runs and has 17 RBI. Allison Boaz leads the pitching staff with a 1.71 ERA as she is 4-3 and has a save.

Previewing the Titans
The Titans went 3-2 at the Judi Garman Classic defeated Kansas (12-11), Fresno State (5-0), and Weber State (8-5). Peyton Toto leads the offense for the Titans with a .581 average collecting 18 hits, 11 RBI, and scoring 10 runs. On the season she has three of Cal State-Fullerton's 16 home runs. Hannah Becerra has a team leading six home runs, 21 RBI, and 23 hits, including six doubles, bringing her extra base hits total to 12. Myka Sutherlin leads the team with 40 innings pitched, a 2.98 ERA and a 4-2 record. She has record 38 strikeouts and walked 27 batters.
 
Previewing the Mustangs
The Mustangs picked up their first two wins on the season with a run-rule victory over Penn on Saturday and a 5-2 win over Fresno State in their second game. Jessica Clements leads the team with a .460 average as all 23 hits are singles. Maddie Amos has produced driven in the most runs with 11 RBI and has two of the team five home runs. Krystyna Alman is 1-5 with a 2.33 ERA, 27 K, and 19 walks in 45 innings pitched.

Previewing the Lions
The Lions went 3-2 at the Judi Garman Classic over the weekend, including a 4-0 shutout of #23 Arizona State on Saturday. Alyssa Daniell has a team leading .327 average with three home runs, seven RBI, and three doubles, while scoring 10 runs. Val Pero (13), Morgan DeBord (12), and Andrea Gonzalez (10) have accounted for 35 of LMU's 76 RBI. Sydney Poole has eight stolen bases on ten attempts. Jenna Perez is 3-3 with a 2.07 ERA, 68 strikeouts and 26 walks. LMU will play double headers against Utah and Princeton before their matchup with Penn at UCLA.
