PHILADELPHIADavid DiLucia has decided to step down as the Albert G. Molloy Head Coach of Men's Tennis at Penn at the conclusion of the fall semester for personal reasons. DiLucia was in his first year as the head coach at Penn after five seasons as an assistant coach.

"It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to step down as the head coach at Penn," DiLucia said. "At this particular juncture in my life, I feel it is important for me to devote more of my energies and time with family. I would like to thank Alanna for the privilege to work at one of the finest universities these past five and a half years. I have been fortunate to coach some of the most exceptional student-athletes who shine both on and off the court. We have accomplished a lot and it has been a great joy to be a part of a program which has steadily grown into a contender on a national stage, but more importantly, a program that is a close-knit family. Penn will always hold a special place in my heart, and the guys will be deeply missed."

The highlight of this fall was the play of Edoardo Graziani and Kevin Zhu, who as a doubles team reached the quarterfinals of the ITA Fall National Championship after becoming the first Penn tennis players to win an ITA Super Regional championship.

"We are thankful for David's service to Penn and our student-athletes over the past six years and wish him well in the next stage of his career," Alanna Shanahan, the T. Gibbs Kane, Jr. W'69 Director of Athletics and Recreation said. "Our men's tennis program is positioned for success this spring and a national search for the next leader of the program is underway."
