Men's Tennis Faces #18 Stanford in First Round of NCAAs on Friday

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team squares off against #18 Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Championships on Friday at 7 p.m. in College Station, Texas.
 
This is the Quakers first NCAA appearance since their tournament debut in the 2021-22 season, when they narrowly fell to VCU in Charlottesville, 4-3.
 
Penn secured a 1-0 lead in the match after taking the doubles point, but the Rams won four of six singles as they advanced to the second round.

* The Quakers ended the regular season with a two-match sweep of Brown and Yale as they reached 18 wins on the season.
 
* Penn was ranked #40 in the final ITA team rankings. Manfredi Graziani and Aaron Sandler were ranked 35th in doubles, while Vojtech Vales and Shaurya Bharadwaj were ranked 83rd. Finally, Manfredi Graziani was listed at #50 in singles.
 
* This is Penn's first ever meeting with Stanford, as the Quakers look to pull off the upset against the 18th ranked Cardinal.
 
* Stanford finished the regular season with a 17-8 overall record, 9-4 in the ACC, tied for third in the conference rankings.
 
* This will be Head Coach Rich Bonfiglio's fifth appearance in the tournament, taking Souther California (USC) to the dance in 2022 and San Diego three times (2017, 2018, 2019).
