PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's squash teams picked up a pair of 9-0 sweeps Sunday against Tufts from the Penn Squash Center (PSC), capping a 4-0 weekend for the team following wins over Western Ontario (men) and Stanford (women) on Saturday.
Following a 5-4 win over the Cardinal last night, Sunday provided a little less drama for the women.
Grace Lavin,
Ashley Manning, and
Penelope Oh all picked up 3-0 wins in less than 20 minutes with
Emma Carter and
Jana Dweek picking up wins in 20 and 21 minutes, respectively.
Eujung Park made it six 3-0 wins for Penn, taking three very close games, including a 17-15 win in the first.
Avni Anand,
Natasha Pensler, and
Emma Wolf all picked up 3-1 wins as the Quakers moved to 4-1
The men were as dominant in their match, if not more so, dropping just one game across all nine matches.
Omar Hafez and
Abdelrahman Dweek each wrapped up their wins in 19 minutes,
Tushar Shahani dropped just seven points in his match.,
Shaam Gambhir and
Dillon Huang each survived a pair of close games in their matches, while
Saksham Choudhary,
Oliver Green and
Rehan Luthra all won 3-0 as well.
Nathan Kueh was the lone Quaker to drop a game during the day, moving to 24-2 at Penn.
The women are now off until 2023, while the men will return to the PSC December 3 and 4 for matches with Haverford and Chatham, respectively.
