Men's Squash Begins 2026 Potter Cup Campaign Friday

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team will look to win its third straight Potter Cup this weekend at the CSA National Team Squash Championship.
 
The No. 2 seeded Quakers have been granted a first round bye on Thursday and will take on the winner of No. 7 Drexel or No. 10 Cornell. The match will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6th.

Quaker Notemeal
The Quakers enter the tournament after being crowned the inaugural Ivy League Tournament champions after taking down Harvard in the final, 5-4. Varun Chitturi, Marwan Abdelsalam, Salman Khalil and Alex Dartnell were named to the All-Tournament team. Dartnell was also named Most Outstanding Player of the Ivy League Tournament in only his first season with the Quakers. Penn has won the last two Potter Cup championships, looking to accomplish the "three-peat" this weekend.
 
Previewing the Dragons
The Dragons enter the weekend after falling, 5-4, to No. 2 Trinity in a tight match on February 22nd. Some of Drexel's most impressive wins this season have been a 6-3 win over No. 6 Princeton, a 6-3 win over No. 10 Cornell and a 6-3 win over No. 4 Virginia. The Quakers were able to defeat the Dragons on December 3rd at the Penn Squash Center, 8-1.
 
Previewing the Big Red
The Big Red enter the weekend after topping No. 21 Rochester, 9-0, in their last match on February 18th. Some of Cornell's most impressive wins this year include a 7-2 win over No. 12 Williams College and a 6-3 win over No. 11 Tufts. The Quakers took down Cornell on January 31st in Ithaca, 9-0.
