AKRON, Ohio – The University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team opened action at the 2021 Zippy Invitational on Friday. After six events, the Quakers are in first place with a total score of 682.
The Red and Blue started strong during the finals as Williams Kamps led the charge in a 1-2-3 finish for the Quakers in the 500 free. Kamps touched with a new meet and pool record time of 4:21.97 and he was followed by
Billy Fallon in second (4:23.81) and
Michael Foley in third (4:27.57).
The records continued to fall for the Quakers later in the day as freshman
Matthew Fallon won the 200 IM with a new pool and meet record mark of 1:44.03. Finishing just behind in second place with
Keanan Dols (1:46.65).
Ben Feldman and
Jack Hamilton competed in the 50 free A final for Penn. Feldman finished in fourth (20.32) while Hamilton came in eighth (20.64).
The Red and Blue ended the night on a high note, winning the 400 medley relay. The Quaker quartet of Hamilton, Bill Fallon, Dols and
William Kamps finished with a meet and pool record time of 3:10.43.

*The Penn A 200 free relay quartet of
Jack Hamilton,
Ben Feldman, Nicholas Malchow and
Matthew Fallon finished third with a time of 1:20.71.
*The Penn B 200 free relay of
Mark McCrary, Bill Fallon,
William Kamps and
Keanan Dols came in seventh with a time of 1:22.00.

Neil Simpson finished in fourth place in the 200 IM with a time of 1:47.71 and
Billy Fallon came in eighth (1:56.34).

Ben Feldman won the B final in the 200 IM.
*The 2021 Zippy Invitational features a seven-team field on the men's side.
