PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team finished third out of five teams at the Big Al Invitational, which concluded Saturday night at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool.
The Quakers scored 1,002 points over the three-day meet, which left them behind host Princeton (1,491.50 points) and second-place Columbia (1,269.50). The meet also included swimmers from Cornell and the University of Utah.
Penn's only win on Saturday night came in the 200 breaststroke, as
Peter Whittington and
Watson Nguyen went 1-2 in the 'A' final. It was Whittington's second win on the weekend, as he also took first in the 400 individual medley on Friday.
Eddie Jin had a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle while
Kevin Jiang took second in the 100 individual medley. The Quakers' 'A' relay team took second in the final event of the meet, the 400 free relay, as
Alex Fu,
Liam Campbell and
Xavier Hill joined Jin in clocking 2:54.12.
