How It Happened
The Quakers got on the board early in the game, scoring in the first seven minutes. From the top of the circle
Elita Van Staden sent a ball into the mix of defenders where Fagan redirected the pass to the left side of the cage. At the right spot at the right time, junior
Meghan Ward tipped the ball into the back of the cage for her team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Â
The score held steady through the rest of the first half, as Penn outshot Dartmouth through the first 30 minutes, 8-1.
Â
The Big Green evened the game up in the 33rd minute, but over a minute later, the Quakers put away the game-deciding goal. Off a penalty corner on the left side of the cage, Clarkson shoved a pass to the top of the circle where Wetzel laid it into place. Without hesitation, Banks sent a hard shot into the right side of the cage for the 2-1 lead.
