TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Senior captain Noah Carey raced in his first collegiate NCAA Cross Country championship race on Saturday in the Sunshine State, taking 119th place out of 253 competitors with a time of 30:20.7.
 
The Guilderland, New York native kept a consistent early 3:00 split in each of his 1Ks, passing runners throughout the entire race. His biggest jump was between the 2K and 3K, bypassing 30 competitors.
 
As the race progressed, he put together his best split in the final 1,000m, notching a 3:00.3 to move up nine spots for his 119th place finish.
 
Carey missed his career 10K mark by just three seconds, a time he set last weekend at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic regional championship. He concludes the season as an All-Ivy honoree, Academic All-Ivy, and All-Region performer.
 
BYU's Conner Mantz won the individual title with a time of 28:33.1, while North Arizona earned the team victory with 92 points.
