Men's Squash Takes Down #4 Princeton, 7-2

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team (8-2, 2-1) bounced back from a loss last weekend to record the biggest win of the season, defeating #4 Princeton (6-2, 1-2) by a final score of 7-2. The win was the first top-five win of the season.

Right out of the gate, it was clear the two teams were very evenly matched, with thrilling five-game matches for Andrew Douglas, Dillon Huang, Yash Bhargava and Wil Hagen. While only Bhargava and Huang earned victories, with Bhargava recovering from a game down, the effort inspired a sensational run from the Quakers.

From the point of the 2-2 tie, it was all Quakers. James Flynn delivered one of the two most convincing wins of the day to spark the Quakers, who continuously won close matches. Captain David Yacobucci delivered the match sealer with his victory and Saksham Choudhary extended his unbeaten streak to 10 matches with a 3-0 victory.

The win over Princeton was significant for several reasons, most notably that it was the first top-five regular season win by the Quaker men since February 2, 2019 against #5 Dartmouth and the highest ranked opponent beaten since #4 St. Lawrence on December 2, 2018.
