HARTFORD, CONN. – The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team (7-2, 1-1) finished up its road trip with a battle against #2 Trinity (11-0) on Saturday, falling in a tight 6-3 decision. The result marks the only non-conference loss of the season for the Quakers.
The two teams locked horns early and often, with almost every match facing intense pressure from both sides. The Bantams jumped out to a lead with wins over
James Flynn and
Dillon Huang. However,
Saksham Choudhary extended his undefeated start to his career, winning a five-game thriller to make it 2-1.
Yash Bhargava and
Aly Abou Eleinen turned in terrific victories as well. Bhargava battled back from a 1-2 deficit to keep the Quakers close, while
Aly Abou Eleinen turned in one of his best performances of the season in 3-0 victory over his talented opponent.
However, the Bantams pulled away late, winning tight matches against
Wil Hagen and
David Yacobucci, ultimately sealing the victory. The match marked the second straight 6-3 loss to the Bantams, with a young Quakers squad showing tremendous fight.
