PHILADELPHIA – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has announced its 2019 Freshman All-America Team and
Josh Hood was voted to the first-team after a stellar rookie campaign with the University of Pennsylvania baseball team.
The New Jersey native started all 41 games for the Quakers at shortstop and posted a .331 batting average with 42 RBI, 42 runs scored, and a team-leading eight home runs. His 60 hits on the season were the most by a Penn freshman in program history.
Hood adds his first-team Freshman All-America selection to a rapidly growing resume which includes a unanimous selection as the Ivy League Rookie of the Year, a first-team All-Ivy selection, and an All-Big 5 selection.
