Men's Squash Steamrolls #15 St. Lawrence 9-0

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team (6-0, 0-0) wrapped up their 2019 slate with a dominant, 9-0 victory over #15 St. Lawrence. The win marked their fourth 9-0 victory of the season, the most over a six-game span to open a season since the 2006-07 season.

Fortune favored the Quakers early on, as they got out to an early 1-0 lead before the match began, thanks to a default by the Saints. From there on, the Red and Blue had their eyes on the prize, jumping out to a large lead.

Freshman Saksham Choudhary extended his unbeaten and unblemished streak to 6-0 and 18-0 in total games, earning an 11-2, 11-4, 11-1 win to give the Quakers a 2-0 lead. Captain David Yacobucci and Aly Abou Eleinen followed suit with convincing 3-0 wins to extend the lead to 4-0.

Tushar Shahani delivered his best result of the season at the right time, not dropping a single point to his opponent from St. Lawrence, delivering the fifth point. The result was the single best by any Quaker, man or woman, this season.

From there, the Quakers looked on as Andrew Douglas and James Flynn participated in thrilling five and four-game battles respectively to help secure their fourth sweep.
