Men's Squash Downs #6 Rochester 7-2

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team (5-0, 0-0) continued their sensational start to the season, defeating the #6 Rochester Yellowjackets, 7-2. The win becomes the highest ranked opponent taken down this year and highest since #5 Dartmouth on February 2, 2018.

Right out of the gate, the Quakers turned in strong results. Aly Abou Eleinen was off and running, cruising to a 3-0 match win. David Yacobucci, Saksham Choudhary and James Flynn all finished up 3-0 wins as well, as the first group to get on court, delivering a strong 4-0 opening lead.

Choudhary continued his remarkable start to the season, not allowing any games once again and improving to 5-0 in his collegiate career. While the Quaker fans were treated to a 12-0 start by Aly Abou Eleinen last season, Choudhary is making a name for himself with sheer dominance and will look to continue his 15-game streak tomorrow.

Rochester was able to fight back with the second round of matches, tallying two wins late. However, Andrew Douglas got revenge for a five-game defeat against his opponent from Rochester last season to surge forward and win his match 3-0. His win delivered the Quakers their fifth point to secure the win. Wil Hagen tallied a close, four-game win in his return to the lineup after resting against Navy, adding on an extra point for good measure.
