Volleyball Wraps Up Home Schedule With Harvard, Dartmouth

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania volleyball team (9-10, 2-8) return home for their final homestand of the season, as they host the Harvard Crimson (5-14, 3-7) on Friday night at 7 p.m. and welcome in the Dartmouth Big Green (7-13, 2-8) as the Quakers celebrate Senior Day. The Quakers dropped the first game of season against Harvard in Cambridge, Mass., falling 3-1 and defeated Dartmouth 3-1 in Hanover, N.H.

*Junior Parker Jones and Freshman Autumn Leak were named to the Ivy League Honor Roll on November 4th.
 
*Leak notched eight kills, 9.5 points, two total blocks and a dig in weekend games against Columbia and Cornell to earn Ivy League Honor Roll honors.
 
*Jones tallied 20 kills, including 14 against Columbia, as well as nine digs, two blocks and one assist over the weekend to earned Ivy League Honor Roll honors.
 
*Jones ranks fourth in the Ivy League in kills (218), fifth in total points (237.0), sixth in kills-per-set (2.95) and seventh in points-per-set (3.20).
 
*Jones (766) needs 34 more kills to reach 800 for her career.
 
*Jones reached the 200 kill threshold this year on November 1st at Columbia, becoming the first Quakers player to record three consecutive 200-kill seasons since Kristen Etterbeek (2011-13).
 
*Sophomore Daniela Fornaciari ranks fifth in the Ivy League in total blocks (58), seventh in blocks-per-set (0.85) and tenth in hitting percentage (.313).
 
*Sophomore Margaret Planek ranks sixth in the Ivy League in total points (225), seventh in total kills (183), tied for seventh in service aces-per-set (0.26), eighth in points-per-set (3.13) and tied for eighth in service aces (19).
 
*Sophomore Carmina Raquel leads the Ivy League in digs (323), while also leading in average digs-per-set (4.36).
 
*Sophomore Kylie Kulinski's 62 assists against Cal State Fullerton on September 21st remain an Ivy League single-game high this season.
 
*The Quakers have two players (Fornaciari and Leng), with 50 or more blocks. This is the first time that's happened since 2017.

*Saturday will mark the final game at The Palestra for seniors Madison Goldstein and Caroline Raquel. The duo played a role in 37 wins over four years with the program.
 
 
Penn vs. Harvard – Friday, 7 p.m.

*Penn has dropped the last two matchups against the Crimson, falling 3-1 in Cambridge, Massachusetts in their first matchup of the year.
 
Previewing the Crimson
*The Crimson enter the matchup having split the last four games they played, including an upset win over the Yale Bulldogs on November 2nd. Harvard is led by junior Mindie Mabry, who has notched 197 kills this year and served as a catalyst for their offense, as well as sophomore Jaimie Rao, who has 159 kills. In addition, sophomore Bella Almanza leads the Ivy League in service aces (28) and service aces per set (0.39).
 
Penn vs. Dartmouth – Saturday, 5 p.m.

Records: Penn leads 50-9 | Last Meeting: October 18, 2019 (Penn, 3-1)
 
*Penn won their first matchup of the year against Dartmouth and has won the last two matches, picking up their 50th win against the Big Green in the series in the process.
 
Previewing the Big Green
*The Big Green enter having lost their last two games and falling to 2-8 in the Ivy League. Struggles aside, the Big Green have seen strong performances this year. Sophomore Francesca Meldrum won Ivy League Player of the Week on September 30th and broke up the streak held by five-time Player of the Week ChiChi Ikwuazom of Columbia. Freshman Makenzie Arent has also impressed, winning Ivy League Rookie of the Week three times.
