PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's men's and women's squash teams will open their regular season with the first round of the Pennsylvania State Championships against Dickinson on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Quaker men enter the match ranked #3 in the country in the CSA Preseason Team Rankings and the Quaker women rank #8.
After a weekend of festivities last week, that culminated in the official opening of the new Penn Squash Center, the Quakers will officially open play, looking to continue their rise in the Ivy League.

Men's Squash
The men's team continues its rise to national prominence under fourth-year Head Coach
Gilly Lane. After his first season going 9-8, Lane and the Quakers have gone 11-7 in 2017-18 and 14-4 in 2018-19 and are looking for their first Ivy League Team Championship since 1974.
The Quakers return several top players, most notably First Team All-American's
Andrew Douglas and
Aly Abou Eleinen. The two players became the first duo in the history of the men's squash program to be named First Team All-American's in the same season and now will look to lead a talented core of players. The Quakers welcome in five new freshmen to the roster;
Saksham Choudhary,
Brian Cowhey,
Dillon Huang,
Tushar Shahani and
Alexander Trauber.

Women's Squash
Led by the winningest head coach in Penn Women's Squash history
Jack Wyant, the Quakers are on the rise. After an 8-8 campaign in 2017-18, the program improved to 10-7 in 2018-19 and return 10-of-12 players from last season's roster.
The women's squash team enters the season minus their 2018 National Singles Champion
Reeham Salah but keeps several talented players.
Jessica Davis and
Julia Buchholz return to anchor the top of the lineup, as well as mentor a class of five new freshmen;
Amina Abou El Enin,
Ashley Manning,
Euwie Park,
Navmi Sharma and
Maggie Yu.
