Men's Soccer Ventures North for Ivy Clash at Dartmouth

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team heads to its northernmost Ivy League foe this weekend, set to face four-time defending champion Dartmouth on Saturday, October 13 at 4:30 p.m.

MATCH DAY 10 - Penn (2-3-4, 0-2 Ivy) at Dartmouth (3-4-4, 0-0-2 Ivy)
Saturday, October 13 | 4:30 p.m. | Burnham Field | Live Stats | ESPN+

Series Information

Penn leads 31-26-8 | Last meeting: 2017 (Dartmouth, 4-0)

The Quakers hold the advantage in the all-time series over the Big Green, but are seeking their first win over Dartmouth since a 2-1 victory in Hanover in 2014. Dartmouth has been the toast of the Ivy League in recent years, having won four-straight conference titles and earning three wins in the NCAA Tournament.

Regulation Not Enough
The Quakers have battled into overtime in seven of their nine matches this season, matching the start of the 2016 squad. Much of Penn's best luck this season has come in overtime, as both of the Red and Blue's two wins came past the 90 minute mark.

Going the Distance
In addition to Forbes, Penn's back four of Casey Barone, Erumuse Momoh, Alex Touche and RC Williams have played all 915 minutes and change on the field for the Red and Blue, helping provide defensive stability that has translated into results for the team. Penn has allowed nine fewer goals than at this point last year.

Scott Makes Saves
Senior goalkeeper Scott Forbes is in the midst of his most successful season in the net for the Quakers, as the New Jersey native currently ranks fourth nationally in save percentage (.860) and 25th with a goals against average of 0.69. As a team, Penn sits 11th in the country in shutout percentage with five clean sheets in nine contests, the most for the Quakers since 2013.

Scouting the Big Green
Dartmouth enters Saturday's match with similar results to Penn this season, having drawn in four contests. In fact, both of Dartmouth's Ivy League contests thus far have ended in stalemates, as the Big Green tied both Yale and Princeton to begin conference action. The preseason favorites have been led statistically by Justin Donawa and Dawson McCartney, as each boast five points to their name, while Dartmouth has split time almost evenly in between the pipes with Henry Stusnick and Christopher Palacios.
