Volleyball Concludes Regular Season With Road Trip to Dartmouth, Harvard

PHILADELPHIA - With back-to-back wins last weekend, the University of Pennsylvania women's volleyball team (12-9, 7-5 Ivy) clinched it's first overall winning record since 2013 when they finished 14-11 and 8-6 in Ivy League play. Now, winners of four straight, Penn heads on the road this weekend as they conclude the regular season. The Quakers will take on Dartmouth (8-13, 4-8 Ivy) Friday at 5 p.m. before they head to Cambridge, Massachusetts to take on Harvard (12-9, 7-5 Ivy).

This weekend the Red and Blue will be playing for a chance to compete in an Ivy League playoff.  If the Quakers win their final two matches and get two losses from both Princeton and Yale, Penn will play in a three team playoff next week.

About Penn

* The Quakers are winners of four straight. It's their longest winning streak in Ivy League lay since 2013. Their seven wins in conference play are the most since 2015. 

* Penn has lost just one match in the second half of Ivy play and is tied for third place with Harvard. With two wins by the Red and Blue and two losses by Princeton and Yale, the Quakers will qualify for an Ivy League playoff. 

* The Red and Blue head on the road for the first time since October 14th when they played at Cornell. They have a 6-6 record away from The Palestra this season. 

* Freshman Parker Jones won her third Ivy League Rookie of the Week this season as she leads the conference in kills with a remarkable 293. Her 293 kills rank third all-time among rookies for Penn. Jones' 10.3 attacks per set rank the fifth most among freshmen in the country. 

* Senior Kendall Covington ranks fourth in the Ivy attack percentage as she has hit .334 this season. Covington has hit above the .300 mark 14 times. 

* Sydney Morton ranks third in the conference with 9.75 assists per set. Her 829 total assists rank second in the conference, as she is just one of three players with over 800 assists, and inside the top 150 in the nation. 

* Hayley Molnar has hit double-digit kills in three straight matches. It's the second longest streak in her career. Her 116 kills in conference play ranks second on the team. 

Scouting the Big Green

* The Quakers won the previous meeting 3-1 and are riding a 22-match win streak against Dartmouth. Penn leads the all-time series 48-7.

* The Big Green have lost four of their last five matches, three of which came on the road. Dartmouth is 5-3 at home this season. 

* Carly Tower ranks third in the Ivy League in blocks as she is has 1.14 per set this season. 

* The Big Green don't have an attacker that ranks in the top-10 in they Ivy League in kills. The team's leader, Sara Lindquist, has 163 which would rank fourth on the Quakers.

Scouting the Crimson

* Penn leads the all-time series with Harvard 45-17. The Quakers lost the earlier meeting this season, however, they won the meeting in Cambridge last year. 

* The Crimson have lost three of their last four matches, all of which were on the road. They have a 6-4 record at home this season. 

* Harvard ranks second in the Ivy League in attack percentage with a .243. Leading the charge for the Crimson is Maclaine Fields as her .332 ranks 5th in the conference. 

* Erin McCarthy is one of just two setters that rank higher than Sydney Morton in assists this season. She leads the Ivy with 865 assists averaging 10.3 per set.
