NEWS AND NOTES: PROVIDENCE
*On Sunday, Penn travels to Providence to play Providence for the first time in program history. Providence has won four of their last six games and has been impressive at home this season. The Friars are 7-3 defending their own turf, an impressive mark that has helped them vault up to second place in the BIG EAST, behind only undefeated Connecticut.

*Senior goalkeeper Megan Guilbert, the reigning First Team All-BIG EAST goalie, will certainly be on the Quaker's radar this weekend. She is second in the conference in goals against average, posting an impressive 1.67 mark and ranks fourth in the league in saves. On offense, the ball runs through freshman phenom Manon van Weezel who leads the Friars in points, shots, and assists.

NEWS AND NOTES: PENN
*The Quakers dramatic win over Syracuse was their second win over a ranked team this season. Alexa Hoover's 64th minute goal proved to be the difference maker in what has been Penn's signature win of the season. Additionally, the impressive goal has been featured on several national outlets including ESPNW and the NCAA Top-10.

*Saturday's victory over Yale was head coach Colleen Fink's 100th win as a head coach. Her 69-53 (.565) record as the Quakers leader has come with countless other accolades, including numerous All-America, All-Region, and All-Ivy honorees under her tutelage. Additionally, she's won 11 games in three of the last four seasons at the helm.

*Senior Alexa Hoover was chosen to participate in the 2017 NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game and is one of two Ivy athletes who will participate in the event.

*Penn has won six of their last eight contests on the season and have outscored their opponents by a 16-11 margin during that span. They're currently tied for third place at 3-2 in the Ivy League standings behind Harvard, Princeton, and tied with Columbia.

*Senior Alexa Hoover leads the team with nine goals and seven assists for 25 points.  Gina Guccione ranks second on the squad with six goals and one assist each, giving her 13 points.

*The NCAA released their fifth RPI standings of the season earlier this week and the Ivy League is well represented as one of the best conferences in the country. The Quakers clock in at No. 21 just behind Princeton (12) and Harvard (19).

*Penn has set up one of their toughest schedules in program history for the 2017 slate that includes seven of their 17 matches against teams ranked in the top-25 of the NFHCA Coaches poll. North Carolina (#6), Delaware (#7), Syracuse (#12), Princeton (#14), Harvard (#16), Rutgers (#20), and Iowa (#23) and have all received votes as of the Oct. 17 edition of the rankings. As a conference, the Ivy League has eight wins over ranked opponents in 2017.

*Several freshmen have seen significant game action in the beginning of their careers. Reese Vogel and Erin Quinn have cracked the starting lineup while six have seen game action through 12 contests.

*The Red and Blue have a bevy of home games for fans to attend this season with 10 matches slated to take place at Ellen Vagelos Field.
