Men's Soccer at West Virginia for Final Non-Conference Clash

PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off a successful Ivy League victory over Yale, the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team will have no chance to rest on its laurels as it travels to West Virginia for a Tuesday night matchup at 7 p.m. The game marks the final non-conference contest for the Quakers this fall.

GAME INFORMATION
PENN (3-9-1, 1-2-1 Ivy) AT WEST VIRGINIA (7-4-4, 0-1-2 MAC)
Tuesday, October 24 | 7 p.m. | Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium | Live Stats | Live Video

PREVIEWING PENN
*The Quakers experienced their highest offensive output of the season in their last outing, utilizing early offensive aggression to take down Yale 4-1 on Rhodes Field. Senior Joe Swenson played a part in four of Penn's goals, scoring three himself and providing an assist on the other, good enough to earn both Ivy League and Philadelphia Soccer Six Player of the Week accolades.

*Swenson currently ranks tied for first in the Ivy League in both goals (7) and points (16). His seven points accumulated in the win over the Bulldogs are tied for the fourth-most by any player in the country this fall, as only three players across the nation have totaled more in one outing.

*Not to be overshadowed by Swenson's insane levels of productivity is Jake Kohlbrenner, who continued his solid rookie season with a goal of his own against Yale. The score is Kohlbrenner's second of the year, earning him a place on the Ivy League's weekly Honor Roll.

*Both Dami Omitaomu and Jerel Blades notched assists in the victory over the Bulldogs. Blades and Kohlbrenner sit tied for second on the team in points with five each.

*Scott Forbes picked up his second win of the season against Yale, totaling six saves which matches a career-high previously set this year against Lehigh.

*Four Quakers have started and played in all 13 matches this season: Sam Wancowicz, Blades, Swenson and Brandon Bartel. Bartel leads the way with 1,146 minutes logged.

NEWS AND NOTES: WEST VIRGINIA
*The Mountaineers own a 7-4-4 overall record this fall, but have yet to tally a victory in conference play with a 0-1-2 mark in the MAC. WVU and Penn share two common opponents to-date this year in Monmouth and Bowling Green. The Quakers fell 2-0 to both teams, while West Virginia walked away from scoreless ties with both.

*The contest between Penn and West Virginia has become a yearly tradition of late between the two sides since their first meeting in 2014. The Quakers are 1-2 all-time against the Mountaineers, but walked away with a win in their only other previous visit to Morgantown. In 2015, Penn earned a golden-goal winner from Wancowicz, his second goal of the night, for a 3-2 victory in double overtime.

*Albert Andres-Llop leads the way for WVU on offense with 12 points on five goals and two assists. Jad Arslan isn't far behind with four goals of his own. The Mountaineers have used three goalkeepers this year but are led by Stephen Banick's 924:32 minutes in goal, sporting a GAA of 1.07. West Virginia Coach Marlon LeBlanc is in his 12th season in Morgantown.
