TOWSON, Md. – Penn field hockey fell to Towson, 4-3 on Sunday afternoon. Lucy Mangat, Reese Czajkowski, and Honor Roberts each found the back of the net, while Jazmin Borensztein, Riley Thomson, and Sydney Mandato each recorded an assist.

Penn controlled most of the offensive pressure, earning 15 penalty corners compared to just the two for the Tigers, along with outshooting them 22-12. The Red and Blue battles back and forth throughout the contest, answering each of Towson's goals, but ultimately ran out of time in the fourth.

How It Happened
The Quakers came out strong offensively, earning five penalty corners in the opening quarter. Despite generating several opportunities, Penn could not convert, and the game remained scoreless heading into the second period.

Towson broke through at three minutes into the second quarter when Delfina Larripa found the back of the net to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Penn responded with an equalizer five minutes later. Borensztein found Roberts, who knocked the ball between the posts to even the score at 1-1.

With two minutes remaining in the half, Larripa managed to score again to put Towson back in front, 2-1, heading into halftime.

The Tigers held a 6-4 advantage in shots through the opening 30 minutes.

The Red and Blue found their footing offensively to begin the third quarter, recording seven shots and three penalty corners within the first seven minutes. Towson, however, took advantage of a penalty corner of its own, with Stevie Schultz netting one in to extend the Tigers' lead, 3-1.

Penn continued the battle into the fourth quarter. Czajkowski took a penalty stroke and buried the opportunity to cut Towson's lead to one.

The Tigers answered with five minutes remaining, as Larripa completed her hat trick to put Towson ahead by two.

The Quakers responded quickly. Penn was awarded another penalty corner, with Mandato sending the ball to Thomson, who then passed it to Mangat, who scored to make it a 4-3 game with four minutes remaining.

The Red and Blue continued to pressure the Tigers in the final minutes, but were unable to get one more past the opposing goalie as Towson held on for the 4-3 victory.
