Quakers Sweep Leopards to Win Fifth Straight Match

Penn won the Leopard Invitational with a perfect 3-0 record

EASTON, Pa. -- The Penn Quakers defeated the Lafayette Leopards on Sunday night to go a perfect 3-0 in the Leopard Invitational. The Quakers took the match in three sets, 25-16, 25-12, 25-15.

"I'm really happy with how we competed tonight," said head coach Tyler Hagstrom. "We were consistent in serve and pass and were disciplined on defense. It was a really good way to finish the tournament."

With the victory, Penn earned its first sweep of 2026 and its fifth straight win, the longest streak in seven years for the program.

Haley Kerstetter notched 10 kills with three blocks while Ellie Siskin went for 10 kills. Emery Moore tallied 24 assists while Addison Pollock totaled 22 digs.

Kerstetter was named tournament MVP while Zada Sanger and Addison Pollock were named to the all-tournament team.

Penn (5-1, 0-0 Ivy League) hit a season-best .357 for the match compared to .054 for Lafayette. Penn had 42 kills, 6.0 blocks, 57 digs and six aces while Lafayette had 27 kills, 3.0 blocks, 45 digs and two aces.

Auma Mbeche-Odhiambo led Lafayette (6-4, 0-0 Patriot League) with nine kills and six digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | Penn took the early advantage, scoring seven of the first 10. Lafayette would fight back, getting the score to just a two-point deficit at 9-7. Two kills each from Muray and Siskin paced a 6-0 Penn run to put the Quakers up 15-7 into the media timeout. After two Lafayette points, Penn scored five straight, all on kills, to go up 20-9 and force a timeout from the home team. The Leopards would get no closer the rest of the way as Penn put the first set away, 25-16.

SET 2 | The Quakers refused to slow down, scoring eight of the first nine in set two to go up 8-1, forcing a timeout. Aces from Pollock and Garner combined with a couple kills from Siskin paced the spurt. Penn would go up by 11 (15-4) into the media timeout after getting kills from Garner and Green combined with a pair of stuffs. The two teams exchanged points for most of the rest of the set, with Lafayette getting no closer than nine. The Quakers would wrap up set two, 25-12. Kerstetter and Greene had kills to end it.

SET 3 | The Quakers tallied five of the first six in set three, getting a pair of kills from Kerstetter and Murray combined with an ace from Siskin. Lafayette cut the lead to three at 6-3 before kills from Garner, Siskin and Murray put Penn up 11-5. Two Leopards points made it 11-7 before two kills from Sanger and one from Siskin put Penn up 15-8 heading into the media timeout. Three straight aces from Siskin spiked the lead to 18-8. The Quakers would go up 21-11 before Lafayette cut the lead to seven at 22-15.
