PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team erupted for three first-half goals and added another after the break, cruising past Saint Joseph's, 4-0, Thursday night at Rhodes Field.
The Quakers (2-3-1, 0-0 Ivy League) scored a season high four times from four different players, with Lily White, Casey Forman, Camarin Choi and Mia Fuss finding the back of the net. Hailey Adamsky assisted on two of the goals, while Penn's defense held the Hawks (4-2-1) to just eight shots and four on goal.
The four goals marked Penn's highest offensive output of the season, surpassing the Quakers' previous season high of three. Penn also finished with a 17-8 advantage in shots and earned seven corner kicks.

*Penn's four goals were its most in a game this season and its highest offensive output since scoring five against Mount Saint Mary's last season.

How it happened
Penn came out of the gates with early pressure, earning a corner kick in the second minute that led to a shot from Magali Capdevila. The Quakers continued to push forward, while Graves made her first save of the night in the fourth minute on a shot from Chelsea Leal.
Saint Joseph's generated a pair of corner kicks in the 10th minute, but Penn quickly turned defense into offense. Adamsky collected the ball near the sideline, carried it forward and sent a ball into the box for White, who finished from in front of the net to give the Quakers a 1-0 lead just 11 minutes in.
Penn nearly doubled its advantage later in the half when a corner kick created a scramble in the box. Several Quaker shots were blocked before Penn appealed for a handball, which ultimately resulted in a penalty kick.
Forman stepped to the spot and calmly converted the chance for her second goal of the season, extending Penn's lead to 2-0.
The Quakers continued to pressure the Hawks and added another goal just before halftime. After a Saint Joseph's foul in the attacking third, Penn maintained possession and Choi found the back of the net for the first goal of her collegiate career.
Penn carried a 3-0 advantage into halftime, its largest first half lead of the season, while holding Saint Joseph's to just three first-half shots.
The Hawks came out with more possession after the break and created several opportunities, but Desai and the Penn defense kept Saint Joseph's off the scoreboard. The freshman goalkeeper made three saves in the second half, including stops on two shots from Juliette Muro within a three-minute span.
Penn continued to generate chances of its own, with Isabella Zulli and White each forcing saves from Saint Joseph's goalkeeper Lauren Lebo before Capdevila had another attempt turned away.
The Quakers added their fourth goal in the 70th minute. Adamsky played a pass to Fuss, who sniped a shot from just outside the box into the net to give Penn a 4-0 advantage.
Saint Joseph's continued to search for a goal late, but Desai made another save in the 70th minute and the Penn defense kept the Hawks scoreless for the remainder of the match.
Penn nearly added a fifth goal in the closing minutes, but shots from Emily Burnham, Isabella Zulli and Capdevila did not find the net.
The Quakers closed out the 4-0 victory for their second win of the season and first since their 3-1 triumph over George Washington on August 27.
The Red and Blue return to action Sunday, traveling to Towson for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
