PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania lightweight men's crew continues its cup season on Saturday, making the short trip North to race Princeton and Georgetown. The Quakers and Tigers will row for the Wood-Hammond Trophy in the Varsity Eights race, with the Hoyas joining the race as a guest.
Princeton has dominated this series through the years, with 66 wins to Penn's 14. That said, the Quakers have won the Wood-Hammond each of the last two times it has been contested at Old Nassau and lost it last year on the Schuylkill River by just four-tenths of a second.
In the latest IRCA/IRA national poll, released Wednesday, Penn's Varsity Eight was ranked third while Princeton was ranked fourth and Georgetown was ranked sixth.
