Women’s Lax Stays on Road for Ranked Battle at #6 Florida

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team stays on the road this week, heading to the Sunshine State for a midweek battle with #6 Florida on Wednesday, March 11, at noon.

The Penn vs. Florida Series
*Florida owns both the wins in the all-time series, most recently winning 13-12 in overtime at Franklin Field last season.
 
*Senior Keeley Block tallied five points in the top-15 battle, trailed by a four-goal performance from Anna Brandt.
 
Quaker Notemeal
*Penn opened Ivy League play at Dartmouth this past Saturday, topping the Big Green 14-10.
 
*Goalkeeper Orly Sedransk stood tall in the cage, stopping a career-high 17 shots. The sophomore was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for her performance.
 
*On the offensive side of the ball, Catherine Berkery led the Quaker offense, tallying five points led by her fourth consecutive hat trick of the season.
 
*Patricia Columbia-Walsh trailed Berkery with her first hat trick of the year. Millie Bartlett, Regan O'Brien, and Eden Welch all scored two goals, while Emma Hrzich and Mar Zaremba netted one each to even out the goal scorers in the victory.
 
*Attacker Berkery has been an offensive force through three games, leading Penn with 16 goals and 20 points.
 
*Keeper Sedransk has been solid in the cage to open the year, stopping 44 shots on the year.
 
*Penn was picked to finish second in the Ivy League in the 2026 preseason poll voted on by the media.
 
*Half of last year's starting lineup will return to the field this season with attacker Berkery, midfielder Lellie King, defenders Maggie BankowskiClare Ruff, and Natasha Yajadda, and goalkeeper Sedransk returning to Franklin Field.
 
*Sophomore Sedransk is pegged to have a strong second year earning Third Team USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse Third Team Preseason All-American as well as a spot on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
 
*Junior  Bankowski has been a force in the X for the Red and Blue, winning 30 draw controls on the year.
 
Scouting the Gators
*Florida brings a dominant 23-9 win over Mercer into Wednesday's matchup. Clark Hamilton and Boo DeWitt scored a team-high four goals each.
 
*Attacker Clark leads the Gators' offense in goals (22) and points (28) through six games.
 
*The Quakers will likely face Paige Crowther in the cage. The keeper holds a 10.52 goals-against average, a .490 save percentage, and 25 saves on the season.
