PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's track & field teams travel to New York, N.Y. to compete at the 2026 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 28 – March 1.
Events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at The Armory on Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

First in the Ivy League
Nayyir Newash-Cambell sits first in the Ivy League men's 400m after clocking in a school record time of 46.04 at the Philly Metro on Feb. 20.
Freshman
Tiago Socarras made his collegiate-debut crushing the men's 1000m program record with a time of 2:20.39. Socarras later broke the 800m record with a time of 1:46.28 at the Tiger Paw Invitational, placing first. He currently ranks 12
th in the NCAA 800m.
Socarras is also a part of the men's 4x800m relay team ranked first (7:22.43), and the 4x400m relay team ranked second (3:06.35).
Thomas Bucks cleared a personal-best height of 5.20m (17' 0.75") in the men's pole vault down at Clemson.
Shane Gardner clocked a season-best 7.75 in the 60m hurdles at the Bob Pollock meet.
Senior
Jake Rose started the season in first in the men's heptathlon recording a personal-best 5647 points, ranked 23
rd in the NCAA.
Newcomer
Jessica Oji leads the women's team ranked second in the nation in the women's shot put. Oji broke the Ivy League record four times this season putting a personal-best 18.45m (60.6.5") at the Penn Elite on Jan. 24.
Pentathlete
Amelia Kristen sits 10
th in the NCAA with a personal-best 4199 points recorded at the Penn Elite meet.
Three-time Ivy League 60m champion Fore Abinusawa leads the women's 60m with a season-best time of 7.32.
In the 400m,
Jailyn Milord ranks first in the league with a time of 53.16. Milord is also a member of the 4x400m relay team ranked first at 3:36.90.
Penn's 4x800m relay team of Edwards, Matora, McCabe, and Stovall sit first with a time of 8:43.38.
Last Year at Heps
Shane Gardner broke the all-time Ivy League record, meet record, and program record in the men's 60m hurdles. Gardner soared past the competition clocking in first at 7.75.
Jake Rose and
Ryan Matulonis joined Gardner on the podium finishing second (7.84) and sixth (8.10), respectively.
Matulonis broke the 500m facility record at Cornell finishing first with a time of 1:02.01. Rose claimed gold in the men's heptathlon scoring 5369 points.
Kampton Kam broke the Singaporean National Record at 2.21m (7' 3") in the men's high jump, finishing first.
Mark Hellwig placed fourth clearing 2.06m (6' 9").
Freshman
Takunda Mhete made two podium appearances finishing fifth in the men's triple jump at 14.98m (49' 1.75"), and fifth in the long jump 7.05m (23' 1.75").
On the women's team,
Fore Abinusawa became a three-time 60m Ivy League champion finishing first with a season-best time of 7.26.
Amelia Kristen placed second in the women's pentathlon with personal-best marks in four of the five events, scoring 3990 points. Kristen started the meet clocking 8.60 in the 60m hurdles*, then cleared 1.59m (5' 2.5") in high jump*, putted 10.97m (36' 0") in shot put*, jumped 5.80m (19' 0.5") in long jump, and smashed the 800m clocking in at 2:15.30*.
Paris Ivery broke the long jump school record with a mark of 6.13m (20' 1.50") on her first attempt, placing fifth.
Angeludi Asaah placed first in the shot put recording a mark of 15.72m (51' 7").
