PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team opens its season this Sunday, traveling to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on Cornell and Bridgeport.
Picked to win their fifth consecutive GEC title, the Quakers are aiming to complete the "treble" of winning the Ivy Classic, GEC regular season title, and GEC championship for a third year in a row.

*Penn returns six First Team All-GEC honorees in
Jordan Barrow,
Manama Fofana,
Marissa Lassiter,
Sophia Paris,
Mimi Fletcher, and
Alisha Werlen. Lassiter and Werlen will lead the charge as team captains for the 2026 season.

Maggie Murphy will kick off their Penn careers against the Big Red.
*Head coach
Kirsten Becker is back for her fifth season in University City. Becker is the only coach in program history to win four conference championships. She is joined by assistant coaches
Casey Zacot and
Mabry Craddock.
*Penn met Cornell on two occasions last season, first defeating the Big Red 194.750 to 193.400 in a solo meet in Ithaca. Penn then took on Cornell in the Ivy Classic, placing first with a score of 195.375. Cornell placed fourth with a score of 192.875.
*Penn last met with Bridgeport in 2024, when the Quakers placed second out of four with a 193.750. Bridgeport finished fourth with a 191.225.
*The Quakers ended the 2025 campaign ranked No. 45 in the Road to Nationals rankings and will look to build on that for the 2026 season.
