This Saturday the University of Pennsylvania Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams return home to the Sheerr Poll to compete against Dartmouth and Yale. The meet will begin at 11:00 AM.

In their last meet the men's team came in 3rd among five teams and the women's team came in 1st. The men's team enters the meet with a 1-3 record for the season while the women's team enters with a 5-1 record.

Peter Whittington scored two wins for Penn at the Big Al in the 400 IM with a 3:48.42 and a 1:53.72 in the 200 breaststroke he also came in a close second in the 200 IM with a 1:46.44, less than four tenths of a second behind Princeton's Alex Townsend.

Watson Nguyen also had a strong performance at the Big Al getting two 1st place and one 2nd place finish. His two wins were in the 50 yard and 100 yard breaststroke with times of 23.92 and 52.56 respectively. He also finished just behind Whittington in the 200 breaststroke with a 1:53.89.

* In the 100 yard free Penn's
Eddie Jin finished in 2nd place with a 43.31. He also finished in 3rd place in the 200 yard free with a 1:35.32.

* Other high placing performances from Penn swimmers would include a second place finish from
Kevin Jiang in the 100 yard IM in 50.94, and
Henry Guo's 3rd place performance in the 100 yard fly in 47.63.

Victor Dang who came 12th and 16th in the 6 meter dive respectively.

Amy Qin had a great performance at the Big Al finishing in 1st in both the 50 yard breaststroke and 100 yard IM with times of 28.7 and 55.32. She also made a 2nd place finish in the 50 yard fly with a 23.92 and a 3rd place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a 53.19. Additionally she placed 3rd in the 50 yard freestyle in 22.72 and the 100 yard backstroke with a 53.19

Anna Moehn made 1st place twice for Penn. She swam a 4:43.58 in the 500 yard freestyle and a 1:47.80 in the 200 yard freestyle. She also made 2nd place in the 1,650 freestyle with a 16:11.18.

Kate Levensten also had two 1st place finishes followed by a 2nd place finish with her two wins in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke with times of 52.87 and 1:55.22 and her 2nd place finish in the 50 backstroke with a 24.98.

Kate Handley swam a 1st 2nd and 3rd place finish for Penn at the big Al. In the 100 yard breaststroke she made first with a 1:02.16. In the 50 yard breaststroke she finished right behind
Amy Qin for second place with a 28.82. And finally in the 200 yard breaststroke she made 3rd place with a 2:14.92.

* Sydney Bergstrong performed great in the freestyle events with a 1st place finish in the 1,650 freestyle in 16:09.74 and a 2nd place finish in the 500 yard in 4:45.02.

* Another Penn Swimmer with a strong performance at the Big Al would be
Kayla Fu who won 1st place in the 100 yard fly in 53.12. She also made 2nd in both the 100 and 50 yard freestyle in 48.95 and 22.57 respectively.

Rachel Yang who placed in 4th place in the 1 meter dive and
Sadie Howard who placed in 4th place in the 3 meter dive.

*Â Yale's last meet against Southern Connecticut State University ended in a resounding Yale victory, winning all 16 events. Yale has a 3-0 record for the season.

* Kavin Li had a standout performance in the 50 and 200 yard freestyle with a 21.29 and 1:51.20. He was the only Yale swimmer to win two events.

*Â Another notable swimmer from Yale would be Jake Wang who won the 100 yard butterfly in 48.06 and led the Yale relay team in the 400 yard freestyle to 1st place.

* Dartmouth's last Meet was the Golden Grizzly Classic Where Dartmouth placed 2nd among four teams. Dartmouth has a 0-3 record for the season.

* In the 800 freestyle relay Dartmouth's team consisting of  David Gal, Colton Rasmussen, Isaac Weigel and Yan Dvoretskiy took 1st place with a time of 6:31.38

* A highlight swimmer from Dartmouth is Jacob Turner who won 3 events in the Golden Grizzly Classic. He won the 200 and 400 IM with times of 1:44.95 and 3:47 and he won the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:44.23.

* In their most recent meet Yale won against both Southern Connecticut State University and University of Connecticut. They won 13 of the 16 events. They have a 3-1 record for the season.

* Double event winners from Yale would include Devyn Sargent in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke, Jessey Li in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, and Morgan Candy in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle.

* In the 200 yard medley relay Yale's Devyn Sargent, Jessey Li, Penney Zarczynski, and Sara Plunkett set the pool record of 1:47.20.

* Dartmouth's last meet was the Golden Grizzly Classic where they beat out 4 other teams to claim 1st place. Their season record is 1-3.

* A standout swimmer from Dartmouth is Carinn Bethea with two 1st place finishes in the 100 yard and 200 yard freestyle with times of 49.86 and 1:48.57 and a 2nd place finish in the 500 yard freestyle in 4:52.92.

* On the diving board Maggie Lambdin won the 3 meter dive with Klara Johnson stjernström right behind her. Lambdin also made 2nd place in the 1 meter dive again with stjernström right behind her.
