Cross Country Sweeps Ivy League Weekly Awards

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's cross country teams swept the Ivy League weekly awards, as Sahil Dodda was awarded men's athlete of the athlete, and Lily Murphy won women's athlete of the week. 

Dodda placed first in the men's four-mile race with a time of 19:19.6 at the Main Line Invitational in Haverford, Pa. He was in first place at the .925 mile marker before dropping down to third. He  reclaimed the lead at the 3.075 marker and held on to claim first place.  The men's team claimed victory with 24 points.

Murphy won the women's 5k with a personal-best time of 16:48.6. She finished nearly 25-seconds faster than second place. Murphy took over the race at the 1600m mark and never looked back. The women's team finished second.  

Quakers return to action on Oct. 3 in Bethlehem, Pa. to compete at the Paul Short Run.
