MBB Earns NABC Team Academic Excellence Award; Five Named to Honors Court

PHILADELPHIA - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by men's college basketball teams and student-athletes.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. The NABC's academic awards include honorees from all levels of college basketball.

Penn was honored to have five student-athletes named to the NABC Honors Court this year: recent graduates Reese McMullen and George Smith and rising seniors Ethan Roberts, Christian Ubochi and Michael Zanoni. As a team, Penn was one of five Ivy League programs honored with the Team Academic Excellence Award along with Columbia, Harvard, Princeton and Yale.

More than 2,400 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and nearly 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2024-25.
