Power, Roberts Named to 2025-26 All-Big 5 Teams in Men's Hoops

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Big 5 has announced its All-Big 5 teams and postseason honors for the 2025-26 men's basketball season, and University of Pennsylvania junior forward TJ Power and senior guard Ethan Roberts were voted All-Big 5 by the city's head coaches as Power earned first-team recognition while Roberts was a second-team selection.

Power started all 30 games this season, and was also a unanimous selection as first-team All-Ivy as well as a finalist for CollegeInsider.com's Riley Wallace Award as the most impactful transfer in Division I men's college basketball. He also was named Most Outstanding Player of the Ivy League Tournament after he recorded double-doubles in both games, with 16 points and 12 rebounds in the semifinal win over Harvard and 44 points and 14 boards in the final victory over top-seeded Yale. The 44-point game against the Bulldogs was an Ivy Madness record and tied for the third-highest scoring game in program history and included a pair of three-point baskets in the final seven seconds to force overtime. Power led Penn with 492 points (16.4 ppg), 229 rebounds (7.6 rpg), and 79 three-point field goals and was second on the team in assists (71) and steals (33) and third in blocked shots (18). Power had a team-leading 25 games scoring in double figures, finished with six double-doubles, and led Penn in scoring in ten games and in rebounding 14 times. Nationally, he finished 15th in 3FG percentage (.432), 46th in defensive rebounds per game (5.93), 90th in 3FG per game (2.63), 97th in rebounds per game (7.6). Among Ivy League player he was second in rebounding (7.6 rpg), third in 3FG percentage (.432) and 3FG per game (2.6), seventh in scoring (16.4 ppg), and eighth in steals per game (1.1).
 
Roberts—who was also a second-team All-Ivy selection this season—played in 23 of Penn's 30 games, missing seven due to injury. He led Penn in overall scoring average (16.9 ppg) and free-throw percentage (.799) and scored in double figures 19 times in his 23 appearances, including a team-high eight 20-point games, and led the Quakers in scoring 10 times. Among Ivy League players, he was fourth in points per game (16.9), sixth in FT percentage (.799), and eighth in 3FG percentage (.404). Roberts scored 30 points in both of Penn's Big 5 pod games, with 31 vs. Saint Joseph's (11/17) and 30 at Drexel (11/21) and added a team-leading eight boards, his season high, against the Dragons. For his efforts in those games, he was named Big 5 Player of the Week, USBWA Team of the Week, and CollegeInsider.com Lou Henson Award POTW. A senior who will graduate in May having exhausted his Penn eligibility, Roberts will play as a grad transfer next year at Notre Dame.
 
Derek Simpson of Saint Joseph's was voted the Big 5 Player of the Year and also was the Big 5's leading free-throw shooter (91.7 percent), while Villanova's Acaden Lewis was the Rookie of the Year and Steve Donahue (Saint Joseph's) was voted the Coach of the Year. Temple's Aiden Tobiason was named the Most Improved Player, Justice Ajogbor (Saint Joseph's) was named the Scholar-Athlete Award recipient for the second straight year, and Temple's Derrian Ford earned the honor as the Big 5's top scorer (18.1 ppg).
