PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team will bring its dancing shoes to Greenville, S.C. The NCAA has announced the field for the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament and the Quakers were selected as a 14 seed in the South region.
Penn will face third-seeded Illinois in the first round on Thursday at 9:25 p.m. The Quakers have played the Fighting Illini once before in March Madness, losing 68-58 in a first-round 4/13 game on March 17, 2000 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Thursday's game will air live on TNT with the broadcasting crew of Ian Eagle, Grant Hill and Bill Raftery and Tracy Wolfson as the sideline reporter.
This will mark Penn's 25th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its first since 2018.
