How It Happened
The Crimson got to work early, scoring not even 35 seconds in to take an early 1-0 lead. Both offenses were silenced by the defenses for the next few minutes until sophomore Berkery hit the back of Lizzie Francioli's net to tie the battle. Right off the next draw, the Quakers kept up the offense as Berkery dished one out to senior Block to give Penn its first lead at 2-1 with 8:12 left of the first.

A card on the Crimson allowed senior Brandt to net her first of the outing to extend the Quakers' lead, but Harvard cut the run almost a minute later to put the game at 3-2 with 4:47 on the clock. Not even two minutes later, both teams exchanged goals, with attacker Block scoring to push the score to 4-3. Harvard kept its momentum going, closing out the first with another goal to tie the game at four.

The Crimson did not let up to open the second, netting back-to-back goals to lead 6-4 with 13:51 left of the first half. Both offenses were slowed down for most of the period, as sophomore  O'Brien tallied Penn's first of the period at the 4:01 mark off a free position to cut the deficit to a goal to end the second-period scoring.

The first few minutes out of the halftime break were quiet for both teams until Berkery netted back-to-back goals to give Penn a 7-6 lead with 8:07 left of the third. Harvard scored its first of the second half three minutes later to even things out. Goalkeeper Sedransk made three straight huge saves for the Quakers after the Crimson's goal to keep the game tied at seven to end the third.

Senior Brandt opened the final 15 minutes of regulation with her second goal of the day off a free position shot to put the Quakers ahead 8-7. The Crimson did not take the slashed tie lightly, netting three unanswered goals to take the Ivy League battle 10-8 as Harvard's defense held Penn off the board for the final remaining minutes of the game.
