How It Happened
The Red and Blue dominated the battle from the start, scoring four unanswered goals with two from Berkery and one a piece from Paige Lipman and Brandt to lead 4-0 with 7:32 left of the first. Senior Chung assisted three of four goals to slash the program's record off Brandt's tally.

Penn continued to explode offensively, as freshmen Kelley and Docking netted back-to-back goals with less than two minutes left of the period to extend the lead. Senior Brandt netted her second of the day with 25 seconds on the clock, bumping the lead to 7-0, but Towson finally got on the board as the first expired to put the game at six goals.

The first five minutes of the second were silent compared to the first period, but freshman Docking broke the scoring lull with 10:16 left of the first half to extend the lead to 8-1. The Tigers scored their first of the quarter a few minutes later, but a penalty on Towson let Gracie Smith score on the player-up to put the contest at 9-2 with 7:09 on the clock.

Attacker Chung continued to put on a show with her sixth assist of the first half off a dish to senior Block to put the deficit at eight goals, but Towson answered with a tally to close out the second with the game at 10-3.

Coming out of the break, both teams were fairly cautious with their offensive shots, but Towson struck first with 8:18 on the clock to cut the deficit to six goals. Attacker Block responded not even a minute later for Penn, with her 30th goal of the season to push the game to 11-4. Towson tried to gain momentum in the final three minutes of the third, as the Tigers added another to the board to cut the lead to six, heading into the final period of regulation.

Ultimately, Penn took care of business in the final 15 minutes of play, scoring three unanswered goals from Brandt and Berkery to push the score to 14-5. The Quaker defense held Towson off the board until the final 3:46 of regulation, but it was too late for a comeback as freshman Kelley added an insurance goal to allow Penn to take the non-conference matchup 15-6.
