PHILADELPHIA – A spectacular outing in the University of Pennsylvania baseball team's victory over Yale on Saturday, senior right-hander
Noah Millikan was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon by the conference office.
It's the second time the Quakers have a Pitcher of the Week award winner, following junior
Thomas Shurtleff on April 7.
Millikan gave up just one earned run—in the first inning—over 7 1/3 innings, scattering three hits, while striking out six Bulldogs with just one walk to pick up the no decision.
After giving up the lone run in the first, Millikan retired 10 in a row from the second to the beginning of the fifth inning before allowing a one-out single.
Junior SS
Davis Baker and freshman C
Ernie Echevarria were tabbed to the Ivy's weekly honor roll.
The Quakers dropped two of three games to the Bulldogs over the weekend and enter the fifth weekend of Ivy play tied with Columbia for first place and a game ahead of Yale with six games remaining. But first, Penn hosts Rider Wednesday at 3 p.m. from Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium. It will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats provided.
