Heavyweights Fall in Childs Cup Race, Win 2V8 and 5V8 Over Princeton

LEONIA, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania men's heavyweight crew won a pair of races on Saturday at Overpeck Park, facing Princeton across five boats and race host Columbia in two.

In the 1V8 race, the fifth-ranked Tigers retained the Childs Cup with a 3.3-second victory over the tenth-ranked Quakers. Penn was victorious in the 2V8 by a mere 1.3 seconds over Princeton, and in the 5V8 race by 2.4 seconds on a day that saw the Red and Blue race neck-and-neck with the Tigers across almost all five boats.
