Heavyweights Win Two Races vs. Harvard, Navy Saturday on Schuylkill

DERBY, Conn. – Racing against Harvard and Navy Saturday morning on the Schuylkill River, the University of Pennsylvania men's heavyweight crew won the day by winning the Fourth Varsity Eight race and ended the day winning the Fifth Varsity Eight race. In between, the Quakers took second in the top three boats as the Crimson retained the Adams Cup and also won the 2V8 and 3V8 with boats that entered the day ranked tops in the nation.

"Today was a positive step forward for our program," said Penn's head coach, Al Monte. "I was really impressed with the resiliency in our lower boats and gutsy racing across the entire squad. I'm excited to see us continuing to make progress in the lead up to Sprints."
